(Peru, Neb.)- The Peru State Men's Basketball team fell in a conference matchup to the Baker Wildcats in Peru, Nebraska on Wednesday, 73-81. The Bobcats are now 3-3 in the Heart of America conference and 7-3 overall.
The Bobcats came out hot with a 8-0 run to start out the game. 3-pointers by
AJ Richard,
David Wingett Jr. (Sr., Winnebago, NE), and
Sayvon Traylor (Sr., Atlanta, GA) helped the Bobcat to keep the game close throughout the half. The Bobcats went back and forth with the Wildcats throughout the half as a final 3-pointer from
AJ Richard finished the half as the Bobcats led 34-33.
David Wingett Jr. started the second half with a good jumper for the Bobcats. The teams fought throughout the half with big plays from
Ajantae Hogan (Jr., Lincoln, NE) and
Sayvon Traylor. Hogan score 20 points in the second half having the final 3-pointer for the Bobcats in the game. The Bobcats couldn't stop the Wildcats as they pulled ahead and took the win 81-73.
Ajantae Hogan led the team with 23 points, seven rebounds and two assists with
David Wingett Jr. having 22 points, eight rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks for the Bobcats.
Sayvon Traylor had 15 points with three rebounds and two assists and two steals along with
AJ Richard having six points.
The Bobcats take on the Missouri Valley Vikings on Saturday, December 9
