(Peru, Neb.)- The Peru State Men's Basketball Team won their first game of the season in University Park, Illinois against the Governors State Jaguars on Saturday afternoon, 84-79. The Bobcats are now 1-0 on the season.
The Bobcats started out the first half with back-to-back 3-pointers by
Sayvon Traylor (Sr., Atlanta, GA) and
Ajantae Hogan (Jr., Lincoln, NE).
Sayvon Traylor led the first half with 13 points and two rebounds.
David Wingett Jr. (Sr., Winnebago, NE) had 11 points for four rebounds.
AJ Richard (Jr., Pearland, TX) and
Quentin Wright (Fr., Flower Mound, TX) had four points each as well. The Bobcats led going into half time with a score of 39-29.
David Wingett Jr., had a good layup to start off a big second half. The Bobcats were able to hold off the Jaguars throughout the second half with the team shooting 67% from 3-point in the second half.
Ajantae Hogan had 16 points with 5 rebounds in the half.
David Wingett Jr. had 11 points with four rebounds and
Sayvon Traylor had seven points in the Bobcats win over the Jaguars.
David Wingett Jr, led the team with 22 points and eight rebounds.
Sayvon Traylor had 20 points with three rebounds and two steals while
Ajantae Hogan had 19 points with five rebounds.
Skyler Wilson (Jr., Omaha, NE) had eight points with five rebounds.
AJ Richard had seven points with four rebounds, followed by
Quentin Wright who had six points and four rebounds in their win.
