Bobcats Shut Out Culver-Stockton on Senior Day

(Peru, Neb.)- The Peru State Football team beats the Culver-Stockton Wildcats on Saturday 36-0. The Bobcats finished their season 5-6 overall and 3-2 in the Heart of America Conference. The football team recognized their nine Bobcat seniors prior to the game.
 
The Bobcats showed the Wildcats no mercy during the matchup. They outrushed the Wildcats only . allowing them 95 yards compared to the Bobcats 223. Similarly, the Bobcats had 211 passing yards while the Wildcats got a total 78.
 
In the first quarter, the Bobcats started with a touchdown on their first possession of the game with a pass from  Colin Shields to Jaden McGrew for a touchdown. Kile Bentley had a stop at the Peru State 46 yard line where the Bobcats took over again. Another pass by Colin Shields to Garry Fleming sealed the deal in the first quarter as the Bobcats led 13-0.
 
Mack Boekhout started out the first quarter with a good field goal only two minutes into the game. Boekhout had a second good field goal attempt with 03:15 on the clock. The Bobcats led going into half 19-0.
 
Coming into the second half, the Bobcats could not be stopped by the Wildcats. A Colin Shields pass to Daylan Jones for 80 yards resulting in a touchdown to take a bigger lead over the Wildcats. Lander Imbimbo was able to score the second touchdown of the quarter with a pass from Colin Shields to make the score 33-0.
 
In the final quarter, a big rush by Keyon Henry-Brooks helped the Bobcats get to the Culver-Stockton 21 where Mack Boekhout had a successful field goal to help seal the deal as the Bobcats win 36-0.
 
Colin Shields had 11 completions for 204 yards resulting in four touchdowns along with 25 rushing yards the longest being 20 in the matchup. Stacian Livingston had a total gain of 85 rushing yards and the longest being 25 for the Bobcats.
 
Keyon Henry-Brooks led in rushing yards gets a total 93 rushing yards with the longest being 24 yards. Henry-Brooks hit a 1000 rushing yards on the season during the game and ended with a total 1,022 yards for the season.
 
The Bobcats had a total 211 receiving yards during the game with Daylan Jones having 97 yards, the longest being 80 yards. Gary Fleming Jr. had a total 50 yards with the longest being 41 yards and Lander Imbimbo being close behind with 45 total receiving yards and the longest being 25.
 
Kile Bentley led the Bobcats in tackles with 11 total, eight being solo tackles.  Mason Benjamin was not far behind with 10 total and seven being solo. Devin Adams added six tackles for the Bobcats with four being solo and a sack for 14 yards.
