Peru State Hosts Three Football Camps

(Peru, Neb.) – The Peru State football coaching staff recently hosted three one-day camps in the historic Oak Bowl on the College's campus.
 
The first camp was a high school skills camp where the focus was on individualized training and team drills. Those attending are listed by their high school (or coop name of football program): Millard South – Conner Braley; Syracuse – Burton Brandt and Colby Lefferdink; Lincoln North Star – Justin Gruber and Avery Hanson; Millard West – Caleb Larson and Brock Wyman; Decatur (Texas) – Aubrey McAlister; Platteview – Tanner Millikan; St. Paul – Jackson Seward; Gretna – Colt Smith; Omaha Westside – James (JD) Strecker; Palmyra – Andrew Waltke; Wahoo – Nate Fox; Akron-Westfield (Iowa) – Hunter Walkingstick; and Falls City Sacred Heart – Brandon Darveau.

The second camp was held for offensive and defensive line players and focused on techniques relevant to their positions. The final day of the camp was for youth campers to help with their overall skill development. Those attending listed by their schools were: Nebraska City – Jayden Adams, Daxx Bender, and Beaux Bender; Nebraska City Lourdes – Levi Anthens; Auburn – Cole Clarkand Bryson Jones; Pawnee City – Jett Farwell, Anthony Kling, Atreyu Kling, Trey Marteney, and Kaitlin Ray; Wilber-Clatonia – Eli Hamilton; Johnson-Brock – Peyton Grotrian, Christopher Melvin, and Maverick Piper; Council Bluffs (Iowa) – Corwin Kerger; Blair – Noah Kuefler; Lincoln – Grant Matson; Palmyra-Bennet – Jason Moore; Lewiston – Tristan Ray, Jackson Janssen, and Caleb Rule; Logan View – Braydon Wobken; and Lincoln Catholic – Johnathan Wood.

Peru State Football Youth Camp Participants

Peru State Bobcat football assistant coach Lou Varley was in charge of the camps and was assisted by Jake Coughlin, Justin Hoffman, DeOn'tae Pannell, and Jeff Reed. In addition, head athletic trainer Brent Melvin assisted with training needs of the campers.
