Two of NAIA’s Winningest Programs to Battle Saturday in Hastings

(Peru, Neb.) – It will be a match-up of the fifth and sixth all-time winningest active programs in NAIA history Saturday night in Hastings.9218
 
When the Hastings Broncos and Peru State Bobcats face off at 7 p.m. on the Lloyd Wilson Field, part of the Osborne Family Sports Complex, teams with 551 and 531 wins respectively will be matched up to start the 2018 campaign.
 
The last meeting between the two teams was Aug. 27, 2009, when Hastings claimed a 38-18 victory on their home turf. The Broncos have won the last four contests in the series. Peru State claimed a 21-14 win over Hastings in 1997.

The series record between the since 1945 is 18-13-3 with Hastings holding the five-game win edge.
 
The other NAIA teams ahead of Hastings and Peru State in the All-Time Winningest Active Football Programs include conference opponents of the two teams.
 
Missouri Valley and Baker (Kan.) from the Heart of America Athletic Conference are the top two teams with 622 and 599 wins respectively. The lone team without a conference affiliation with either of the Bobcats or Broncos is Ottawa (Kan.) which stands in third with 564 wins. Hastings' Great Plains Athletic Conference foe Doane is fourth with 554 victories.
