(Peru, Neb.) – The new Peru State coach had an opportunity to coach against his former team on Wednesday night. The College of St. Mary (CSM) Flames, Coach Brewer's former team, handed Peru State their third loss of the year 89-74.
With the win, the NAIA DII Flames improved to 2-1 while the Bobcats fell to 0-3 in a non-conference match-up in the Al Wheeler Activity Center in Peru.

one of her teammates First Quarter Action The Flames scored the first three points of the quarters on free throws. Peru State's first score came on a
Jackie Robles (Parlier, Calif.) trey on an assist from
Sydney Wilkinson (St. Joseph, Mo.) to tie it at the 8:00 mark in the quarter. The rest of the quarter was tight throughout with Peru State having its largest lead of two at 11-9 after Wilkinson hit a jumper with 6:31 left in the first stanza. CSM would lead by as many as five at 21-16 before
Justice Daniel (Olathe, Kan.) hit a three-pointer off an assist from Wilkinson with 19 seconds left in the quarter. At the end of one quarter, the Flames led 21-19.
Second Quarter Action CSM went on a 10-2 run to start the second quarter and kept that control for most of the quarter. The Flames led by as many as 14 at 42-28 with 1:32 left in the period before the Bobcats made a run to end the quarter. Wilkinson hit a pair of free throws and then hit a bucket to cut it to 42-32. After a Flames' bucket, Wilkinson made one of two free throws which was followed by a trey by
Jackie Beaugard (Omaha). The second quarter ended with CSM leading 44-36.

of her 14 points Third Quarter Action Celine Jolicoeur (Elmont, N.Y.) made a bucket to start the third quarter off an assist from Wilkinson to cut into the Flames' lead. At the 6:46 mark, the Bobcats had fought back to just a three-point deficit after Wilkinson dished off to Daniel who hit a trey making it 48-45. The Flames did finish off the quarter with a 19-8 run at the end up leading 67-53 at the end of three periods.
Fourth Quarter Action After CSM moved out to a 19-point advantage at 72-53, the Bobcats scored the next nine points to cut it to ten with 5:15 left in the game. A field goal by Daniel was followed by one from
Madara Laure (Riga, Latvia). Then Beaugard hit a bucket which she followed up with a trey to make it 72-62. That run by Peru State was countered with 11 straight to put the game out of reach with 2:14 left in the game.
CSM GAME BOOK Team Statistics The Flames held a huge rebounding and shooting advantage in the win. CSM made 37 of 65 shots for 56.9% which included making 4 of 14 treys for 28.6%. The Bobcats made 26 of 71 for 36.6% while shooting better from behind the arc as they hit 12 of 30 for 40%. The shooting at the free throw line was nearly even as CSM made 11 of 17 for 64.7% while the 'Cats made 10 of 16 for 62.5%.

break. Daniel led the Bobcats with 15 points. The taller CSM team grabbed 46 rebounds while Peru State had just 26. The Bobcats only committed 11 turnovers while forcing the Flames into 19 errors. Both teams had two blocked shots.
Individual Statistics Four Bobcats scored in double figures and were led by Daniel with 15 points. Wilkinson, Beaugard, and
Rashaun Casey (Elmont, N.Y.) each scored 14.
Daniel also led the team with rebounding with six with Robles nabbing five. Wilkinson had a game-high eight assists and three steals while committing just one turnover. Casey added two steals. Laure and Wilkinson were each credited with one blocked shot.
Upcoming Games Peru State will open its conference action next week with two games. The Bobcats will travel to Atchison, Kan., to face Benedictine at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday night. Currently, the Ravens are 3-0 and will play a pair of games this weekend.
On Saturday, Nov. 21, the 'Cats will host Central Methodist (Mo.) at 2 p.m. The Eagles are 1-0, but will have three contests before coming to Peru State.
Both games will be combined with men's games to follow.
