Bobcat Volleyball Sweeps Central Methodist

(Peru, Neb.) – While some may have been football on a Sunday afternoon, those who gathered in the Al Wheeler Activity Center at Peru State saw the Bobcat volleyball team earn their third straight sweep.  The 'Cats took down the visiting Eagles from Central Methodist University 25-12, 25-22, 25-21.

With the win, Peru State improves to 18-11 overall on the season and 2-4 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference.  The Eagles fell to 8-15 overall and 1-5 in conference play.

Game Action

The Bobcats jumped to an early 5-2 lead in the first set when Rian Kirby (Gretna) put down a kill on an assist from Courtney Jurek (Bellevue).  Central Methodist cut the lead to one at 7-6, but that would be the closest they would be in the first set.  Peru State cruised the rest of the first set as Lea Boras (Makarska, Croatia) ended it with a kill on an assist from Meg Grose (Peoria, Ariz.) to win 25-12.
