(Peru, Neb.) – Peru State sophomore outside hitter
Lindsey Nelson (Granite Bay, Calif.) was named to the Avila University Eagle Volleyball Invitational as announced by Avila officials on Friday, Sept. 13. The invite was held last Friday and Saturday, Sept. 6 and 7, in Kansas City, Mo.
Nelson, along with her Bobcat teammates, won three of four games during the weekend.
During the tournament, Nelson started slowly, but finished strong on Saturday.
In the loss to Park, Nelson managed only three kills while adding three block assists.
In the sweep of Kansas Wesleyan, Nelson hit .333 while putting down seven kills on 15 attempts with only two errors. Nelson added two solo blocks and two block assists in the win.
Against McPherson, in which the 'Cats won in five, Nelson had 11 kills on 29 swings while hitting .241. She added three block assists and one dig in the win.
In the final game win over St. Mary, Nelson had her tournament high of 12 kills while adding six block assists and one dig.
Nelson and the Bobcats improved to 7-6 with their three wins in the tournament.
