Adaugo Osuala of Peru State was named the winner of the last Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week award for the 2012-13 season on Monday afternoon.
Osuala flirted with a triple-double over the weekend against Evangel on the way to her second Player of the Week award this season. A native of
Lakewood, Colo., she tallied 23 points, nine rebounds, eight steals and three assists in a 64-52 win over the Crusaders. She is the Bobcats' single-season leader in steals and leads the NAIA with 125 on the season.
Osuala will represent the conference in the running for the NAIA Division I Women's Basketball Player of the Week award, which will be announced no later than Tuesday afternoon.
In winning the honor, Osuala joined teammate
Courtney Ward (Bartlesville, Okla.) as two of three players to earn the HAAC honor twice this season.
