(Peru, Neb.) – Twelve Bobcat seniors from the basketball and cheerleading squads will make their final home appearances on Saturday, Feb. 23, when Peru State hosts the Evangel University Crusaders. In addition, in order to give the seniors a great send-off and to support the teams, Saturday has been declared as “Pack the 'WAC” Day!
Prior to the women's game, Bobcat seniors
Courtney Ward (Bartlesville, Okla.) and
Jasmine Lockwood (Sunrise, Fla.) will be honored.
At halftime of the women's game, there will be entertainment provided by the participants in the Bobcat cheerleaders' youth cheer camp.
Before the men's game, the Bobcat cheerleaders and men's basketball players will be recognized.
Sara Mencl (Beatrice), Hannah Reeves (Lincoln), and
Katie Bornemeier (Beatrice), along with
Shelby Jones (Johnson) – former captain and current assistant coach, are the four cheerleaders who will be saluted.
The Bobcat men's senior basketball players who will be announced include
Peter Knudsen (Vanloese, Denmark), Richard Oppitz (Topeka, Kan.), Jacob Schaben (Defiance, Iowa), Blake Steagall (Lake Tapawingo, Mo.), Andre Wells (Colorado Springs), and
Derrick Williams (St. Joseph, Mo.).
At halftime of the men's game, the Bobcat cheerleaders will do a final performance for the season.
Anyone attending the game will be given a ticket for an opportunity to win a prize. Drawings will occur during both games.
