(Peru, Neb.) – Peru State outside hitter Bre Brandt was named the Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) Hitter of the Week on Monday, Oct. 7. Brandt joins Baker University teammates, Hannah Bettge and Renata Dill, who were named as the Setter/Player of the Week and Libero of the Week respectively.
Brandt, a junior from Papillion, led the Bobcats to two wins on the road over the weekend as Peru State swept Stephens College in non-conference play and Central Methodist University in HAAC action. The Bobcats revenged an earlier defeat at home against Central Methodist in which they lost in five sets.

On the weekend, Brandt averaged 4.33 kills per set while hitting .350 overall. In addition, Brandt averaged 4.00 digs per set. Against Central Methodist, Brandt finished with a double double having 14 kills and 15 digs. The previous night, Brandt was just one dig short of having a double double against the Stars as she had 12 kills and nine digs.

Currently, Brandt leads the Bobcats in kills averaging 2.72 per set and also in total kills with 231. She is second on the team in digs with 202 total, averaging 2.38 per set.

Presently, among the HAAC individual leaders, Brandt is fourth in total kills (231), eighth in kills per set (2.72), and 13^th in total digs (202).

Brandt and her Bobcat teammates play two games this week. On Tuesday, they will be in Omaha to face the Grace University Royals in non-conference play. Then, on Saturday, Peru State will host the Evangel University Lady Crusaders at 1 p.m.
