Peru State athletic director Steve Schneider announced Friday that senior golfer Marisa Pribnow (Lincoln) and junior football player Travis Carnahan (Wahoo) were selected as the July Bobcat Student-Athletes of the Month.
Pribnow was selected as the female athlete of the month for being selected as the Heart of America Athletic Conference’s A.O. Duer Award nominee. With her selection by the Heart, Pribnow will compete against the other top females from the other NAIA conferences. The A.O. Duer award is considered to be the highest honor given to a student-athlete who has excelled in scholarship, character, and citizenship. In addition to this recognition, Pribnow placed fifth in the Lincoln City Women’s Golf Tournament in July.
Schneider commented, “Marisa and Travis are excellent selections as Athletes of the Month. Both of them have experienced much success athletically and also have been role models for being successful in the classroom as well.” Concluding, Schneider noted, “In addition, these two have gone above and beyond in terms of being good servant leaders.”
