After earning Heart of America Athletic Conference First Team honors, Jhessica Martins (Uberlandia, Brazil) and Eric Morrison-Smith (San Diego) were named the Peru State Bobcat Athletes of the Month for November. Athletic director Steve Schneider recently made the announcement.
Morrison-Smith, a junior, was one of two running backs named to the Heart North Conference first team. For Morrison-Smith, this is his first-ever football recognition.
At the time of the release, Morrison-Smith had 759 yards (7th Heart) rushing on 150 rushing attempts, averaged 94.9 yards per game (27th NAIA/4th Heart), scored ten touchdowns, total scoring/touchdowns with 62 (44th NAIA/7th Heart), and currently 45th in the NAIA in total scoring with 62.
“Jhessica and Eric are deserving of their being named as the November Bobcat Athletes of the Month. Being named to the first team all-conference in their respective sports is an indication of the effort they put forth on the court or the field as the Heart is one of the toughest conferences in the NAIA,” stated athletic director Schneider.
