Following good performances in September, Emily Hausmann (Columbus) and Tyler Audsley (Prescott Valley, Ariz.) were named the Peru State Bobcat Athletes of the Month for September. Athletic director Steve Schneider recently made the announcement.
Audsley is one of the reasons why the Bobcats finished the month of September with a 4-1 mark. In the win over Central Methodist, Audsley had 188 total yards – 61 rushing and 127 passing. Against CMU, Audsley had three touchdowns. He added another 166 total yards in the loss at Evangel with 53 yards coming on the ground and 113 in the air with two touchdowns.
In the win over Avila, most of his offense came on the ground as he had 146 yards with two scores. In the upset of Missouri Valley, Audsley accounted for 255 total yards – 122 on the ground and 133 in the air and was responsible for four touchdowns. He followed that with 129 total yards in the upset over MidAmerica Nazarene and had one touchdown.
Schneider commented, “Emily and Tyler are deserving of their being named as the September Bobcat Athletes of the Month. Emily has been a three-year member of the golf team and has consistently been in the top two or three of the team’s golfers. Tyler has come back from his injury from last year and is a big reason why the team was 4-1 over the course of the first five weeks.”
