Peru State athletic director Steve Schneider announced on Jan. 3 that Karlee Stuart (Las Animas, Colo.) and Corday Sims (Chicago) were selected as the Bobcat Athletes of the Month for December.

Â
Stuart, a 5-8 senior guard/forward, was named the Heart Player of the Week in late November after having two double-doubles which resulted in the Bobcats’ first win. Against Grand View University, Stuart had a game-high 26 points and 15 rebounds in the ‘Cats 72-56 win. Later, that week, Stuart scored 14 points and had ten rebounds in a loss to Dordt University.
Â
Currently, Stuart is Peru State’s leading scorer as she is averaging 15 points per game. In addition, she is presently the rebounding leader averaging 8.33 rebounds per game. Stuart is among the leaders in NAIA Division I women’s basketball as she is listed in three different Top 50 individual categories.
