(Peru, Neb.) – Peru State athletic director Wayne Albury recently announced the March Peru State athletes of the month as Alyssa Marsh-Contreras (Omaha) and Henry Tanksley (Lincoln).
Both Marsh-Contreras and Tanksley have been leaders on their respective basketball teams. Most recently, both were named to the NAIA Division I All-American Honorable Mention list.
Tanksley, a junior 6-4 guard, led the Bobcat men in scoring averaging 17.47 points per contest.
Currently, Tanksley is ranked in two NAIA Individual Top 50 categories: 30th in points per game (17.917) and 46th in total scoring (215).
Tanksley completed the season ranked in three NAIA DI Top 50 individual rankings: 20th in total scoring (559), 33rd in points per game, and 44th in three-point field goal percentage (0.413).
“Gaining any level of All-America recognition is quite an accomplishment so it was not a hard selection to identify Alyssa and Henry as Peru State’s athletes of the month for March,” noted AD Albury.
