Peru State athletic director recently announced that Claire Cudney (Marysville, Kan.) and Nick Brannon (Las Vegas) were selected as the Bobcat student-athletes of the month for February.
Cudney and Brannon – both seniors – were consistent performers on the basketball teams during the month of February.
A 5-9 small forward, Cudney averaged more than nine points and nine rebounds per game during the month. She had her season high 18 rebounds against Benedictine (Kan.) in which she scored 16 points which was her second-highest scoring output of the year. She made 24 of 34 free throws in the month for 70.5% which a great improvement from earlier in the year.
At the time of this release, Cudney is ranked in three NAIA Top 50 individual rankings: sixth in offensive rebounds per game (4.520), 23rd in total rebounds per game (9.440), and 36th in total rebounds (236).
Albury stated, “Not only did Claire and Nick help their teams on the court, but they are excellent students in the classroom. They are good role models for all Bobcat student-athletes.”
