Peru State College Athletics

Bobcat volleyball player Nadja Janjevic (Podgorica, Montenegro) and football player Stephen Bowers (Papillion) were named recently by Peru State athletic director Wayne Albury as the November Bobcat Athletes of the Month. The seniors were selected by the athletic director as they both earned Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart) all-conference honors this past month.
 
Bowers was the only Bobcat football player to earn Heart North Division football first team honors. As a junior, Bowers was a second team honoree. As a sophomore, he earned honorable mention recognition.
 
With just one more game left in NAIA football – that being the national championship – Bowers is listed in two NAIA individual statistical categories. He is third in fumbles forced per game at 0.400 and 44^th in total sacks with 6.00.
 
Albury stated, “Earning all-conference recognition in a conference as tough as the Heart is outstanding. Nadja and Stephen have been able to do this for several years and are deserving of the November Athlete of the Month recognition.”
