Peru State College Athletics

Bobcat volleyball player Nadja Janjevic (Podgorica, Montenegro) and football player Stephen Bowers (Papillion) were named recently by Peru State athletic director Wayne Albury as the November Bobcat Athletes of the Month. The seniors were selected by the athletic director as they both earned Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart) all-conference honors this past month.
 
Janjevic was named to the Heart volleyball all-conference second team. This was the fourth-straight year that Janjevic had earned all-conference honors. She received second team honors last season after earning first team recognition as a sophomore. As a freshman, she earned honorable mention recognition.
 
At the end of the entire NAIA volleyball season, Janjevic was the only Bobcat listed in the final individual statistics. She was 34^th in total blocks with 132 and 37^th in blocks per game at 1.070.
 
In addition, Janjevic was recently named for a second year as a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete.
  
Albury stated, “Earning all-conference recognition in a conference as tough as the Heart is outstanding. Nadja and Stephen have been able to do this for several years and are deserving of the November Athlete of the Month recognition.”
