(Peru, Neb.) – Bobcat women’s golfer Hannah Baldacci (Norfolk) and baseball player Bryan Ventura Castro (Carolina, Puerto Rico) were recently named by Peru State interim athletic director Wayne Albury as the May Bobcat Athletes of the Month. They were identified by Albury for the honor based on their recent athletic accomplishments for their respective teams.
This is the second-straight monthly recognition for Baldacci. The senior has been among the team leaders this entire year and was recently named to the Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart) Golf All-Conference Team.
Prior to the conference tournament, Baldacci had a scoring average slightly over an 89. Just before the tournament, Baldacci had been playing some of her best golf of the year as she had an 85 in the Doane Invite and then came back with rounds of 84 and 86 in the Concordia Bulldog Invite.
In addition to her all-conference recognition, Baldacci was recently named as a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete. This was the second time she had received that honor.
In announcing his May selections, Albury noted “With their efforts on the golf course and on the baseball diamond, Hannah and Bryan are good choices for the May Peru State Athletes of the Month.”
