Peru State College Athletics

Bobcat athletic director Steve Schneider recently announced that Peru State volleyball player Nadja Janjevic (Podgorica, Montenegro) and football player John Brady (Hickman) were selected as the August Athletes of the Month. They were picked based on their efforts and/or honors earned during the past month. 

A true freshman, Brady was selected for the August award as he earned the first Heart of America Athletic Conference’s Special Teams Player of the Week after Peru State defeated Avila 31-14. His 33-yard field goal in the third quarter broke the tie game giving the Bobcats a lead they would not relinquish. He made all of PATs and had six kick offs for a total of 296 yards with his longest being 57 yards.

“While it was a short month with athletic events, Nadja and John both played key roles in helping their teams to early-season wins,” noted Schneider when announcing his August selections.
