Peru State College Athletics

Bobcat athletic director Steve Schneider recently announced that Peru State women’s basketball player Abigail Niebrugge (Omaha) and men’s basketball player Rashad Brackeen (Oakland, Calif.) were selected as the December Athletes of the Month. They were picked based on their athletic efforts during the past month.

The Peru State men are off to a 5-7 mark with Brackeen being the team leader in two individual key stat categories.
 
Like Niebrugge, Brackeen is his team’s leading scorer averaging just under 20 points per game at 19.67 while connecting on 40.6% of his field goal tries. Also, Brackeen is the Bobcats’ assist leader averaging 3.33 dimes per game.
 
Currently, Brackeen is listed in four different individual NAIA DI men’s individual rankings: third in three-point field goals made per game (3.667); fifth in total three-point field goals made (44); 18^th in points per game (19.667); and 23^rd in total scoring (236).
 
Schneider commented, “Both Abigail and Rashad have helped lead their teams to their respective starts. Congratulations to both of them on their selections as December athletes of the month.”
