Peru State College Athletics

Bobcat athletic director Steve Schneider recently announced that Peru State volleyball player Cristina Viera (Montevideo, Uruguay) and football player Jacob Coughlin (Omaha) were selected as the November Athletes of the Month. They were picked based on their athletic efforts during the past month.

Coughlin was named to the Heart North First Team All-Conference as a wide receiver.

Coughlin's stats for the 2016 campaign included: 23 receptions for 418 yards while averaging 18.2 yards per catch with four touchdowns. Coughlin finished 17th in the Heart with 418 receiving yards, 19th in Heart with 41.8 receiving yards per game. In addition, Coughlin gained 161 yards rushing on five carries while scoring one touchdown.
 
Schneider commented, “Cristina has been one of the main keys for the successful volleyball team. Jacob came through for the football team in some key moments. Congratulations to both of them on their selections as November athletes of the month.”
