Peru State College Athletics

Big, strong and talented Joe Krejci was a star among stars at Peru before graduating in 1926. The 200-pounder is remembered for his 60+ yard passes in football and his high scoring exploits on the Bobcat basketball court at a time when Peru was dominant in Nebraska. Krejci later played professional football for the old Chicago Cardinals and the St. Louis Blues. He dedicated his career to education and coaching in schools in Nebraska, New Mexico, Iowa and Illinois.
