Brian Levin, from Granite City, Ill., was a standout for the Peru State football team during his time in a Bobcat uniform as a placekicker.
A three-time Bobcat team MVP, Levin was a two-time captain for Peru State. He was named to four All-District teams, two Omaha World-Herald All-State teams, and was twice named as the District Player of the week.
In 1987, Levin was named as an NAIA Division II Football First Team All-American when he led NAIA DII in kick scoring averaging 7.70 points per game.
Levin still owns the record for the longest field goal of 56 yards which he kicked against Evangel (Mo.) University in 1987 as a game-winner with 13 seconds left. He had set the Peru State kick scoring record at the time of 225 points and owned the career field goals mark with 45. The 45 field goals, at that time, were fifth-best in an NAIA career.
His kicking ability was noticed by many professional football team scouts as he tried out for the New York Giants in 1988.
Levin also played baseball for the Bobcats where he finished his career with a .344 batting average.
