Peru State College Athletics

Though not a great athlete himself, Arlene “A.B.”  Ritchie believed in the principles of athletics, and is deservedly this Hall of Fame’s first inductee for “Meritorious Service.” A 1927 Peru graduate, A.B taught and coached in Nebraska schools for 12 years before entering the farming business. He was one of the Peru State Bobcats’ most staunch and loyal supporters and played a vital role in gaining approval for construction of the Wheeler Activity Center. A.B Ritchie, one of Peru State’s best friends passed away in 1986.
