Peru State College Athletics

Though many Peru State College football teams have gone undefeated and many Bobcat individuals and teams have made their marks at the national level, the 1990 grid squad will forever be remembered as the first Peru team to bring home a national championship. Explosive and talented on both sides of the ball, they cruised through a regular season without a loss, then muscled their way through the four-game playoffs en route to a 12-0-1 record and the NAIA Division II national title. While numerous individual honors were awarded after that season, as was the squad’s unique collection of talented and dedicated layers and a strong coaching staff that combined to bring home a coveted national title.
