Peru State College Athletics

Peru State athletic director Steve Schneider has announced that Bobcat golfer Jordan Schaardt (Humboldt) and Bobcat baseball player Ryan Grabowski (Omaha) have been selected as the May Bobcat Athletes of the Month.
 
Schaardt, a senior, earned her second Athlete of the Month recognition since the honor started in October of 2011.  This is Grabowski’s first time being recognized.
 
During her three years in the Bobcat golf program, Schaardt was the team’s leader in overall scoring average and led the team in most of the meets.  In May, Schaardt became the first Bobcat golfer to earn the right to play in the NAIA National Championships as she captured the Heart of America Athletic Conference medalist honor in a dramatic three-hole playoff.
 
Also in May, Schaardt was named to the 2013 Capital One Academic All-District 6 At-Large Team, which eventually resulted in her most recent honor.  Schaardt became the first Bobcat golfer to earn Capital One Academic All-America honors, being selected for the first team.  In addition, Schaardt earned her second Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete recognition.
